PRUNING SHEARS

Bypass pruners, also known as bypass shears, are essential gardening tools designed to cut plant stems and branches cleanly and precisely. Their mechanism is based on two sharp blades that pass by each other during the cut, similar to a pair of traditional scissors.
When using bypass pruners, a sharp blade slides past a thicker, rounded blade (called the counterblade). The sharp blade makes the actual cut, while the counterblade supports the branch, allowing for a clean cut without crushing. This type of cut is particularly suitable for green, living branches, as it reduces the risk of damaging the plant and promotes quick healing.
