The Spear Tech project began in 2011 with the aim of meeting the operational needs of military special forces, by designing a versatile knife that could also serve, when necessary, as a edged weapon. After several design phases, the final version, currently available on the market, was developed and put into production. Its distinctive features include a modified spear point blade to enhance penetration capability on resistant materials such as tactical vests, a medium blade length that facilitates operations without compromising maneuverability, and a slightly serrated cutting edge with an unsharpened false edge, optimized to effectively perform various operational tasks.
Particular attention has also been devoted to the ergonomics of the handle, designed to provide an anatomical and non-slip grip in various operational contexts. The G10 handle scales, resistant to external agents, feature relief milling that enhances grip even in maritime environments, ensuring stability even with wet hands and without gloves. The design of the sheath, made of Kydex® and Cordura®, ensures secure retention and an ambidextrous retention system for the operator.
Although its initial purpose was predominantly military, during testing the Spear Tech has proven equally effective as a field knife, successfully surpassing tests of cutting various materials, chopping, and batoning. This versatility and its performance have made the Spear Tech a highly valuable multi-role knife, appreciated not only for its operational capabilities but also for its appealing aesthetics.
