AREX SPARTAN BAYONET

In June 2006, FOX, in collaboration with AREX, a Slovenian company, entered into an official contract with the Slovenian Ministry of Defense for the supply of the Spartan bayonet to the Slovenian Army. The Spartan was developed entirely in accordance with MOD specifications and underwent rigorous testing and comparisons with other models participating in the tender. The blade is made of 440C stainless steel clip point and, compared to previous versions, features some significant modifications: the blade thickness has been reduced from 6 mm to 5 mm to decrease the overall weight of the knife; the attachment is made of ERGAL aluminum 7075 with black surface anodization in accordance with MIL-A-8625 type III specifications. The handle, identical to that of the COMBAT version, has been adapted in the composition of the base material to fit the specific characteristics of the F2000 rifle and accommodate the new attachment. The Cordura® sheath has been specially modified to meet MOD specifications and requirements, with a special stainless steel clip applied to the back, developed exclusively for the Slovenian Army. AREX is responsible for the production of plastic parts and the Cordura® sheath, while assembly, production of various components, and sharpening of bayonets are carried out entirely within our company.
